Hinderwell WI - November

PRESIDENT Mrs C Prudom opened the November meeting welcoming everyone, especially a new member, Mrs A Lintott.
Apologies were given and birthday cards were given out of which there were three this month.
Mrs B Piggott read out the minutes of the last meeting and they were approved.
Thanks were given to Mrs Flewker-Barker for arranging the supper club evenin
g which was enjoyed by those who attended the evening.
The concert held at Staithes WI was well supported by WI members from the Endeavour Group, thanks were given to Ann Dobson for her hard work aranging the music and singing for the Hinderwell WI concert members.
A coach will leave Staithes at 8.30am for the carol service at York Minister on 16 December, picking up members along the way, leaving York at 4.30pm.
A group carol service is to be held on 9 December at 7pm in Hinderwell Chapel. Members are asked to provide two mince pies.
Thanks were given to Mrs M Welford in her absence for laying a poppy wreath at the war memorial in Hinderwell.
Jane Harland was the guest for the evening. She demonstrated how to make a Christmas cake decoration, with members making their own with Jane's guidance, Mrs P Turner thanked Jane for a very enjoyable and productive evening.
The competition for a hand-made pomander: 1 Mrs C Prudom, 2 Mrs Y Barber, 3 Mrs L Johnson.
The next meeting is to be held on Monday 14 December at 7pm in the Old School. Guest speaker will be Mr S Allan, the talk Hypnosis, the competition for six chocolate truffles. Visitors are always welcome to meetings.
