MRS B Rutter presided over the November meeting and after the singing of Jerusalem Mrs M Gallon read last month's minutes and the WI creed was read by Mrs F Cornforth.
The Ugthorpe WI darts team have had two wins and a draw. The group AGM had been held at Lealholm, three went and Mrs B Rutter read out next year's group events.
This year's carol concert is at Glaisdale on 4 December at 7.30pm. There will be a fa
ith supper and entertainment is by Ann and John Dobson.
Next month's meeting is to be a floral evening, members to take scissors and secateurs.
Four members are to go to a party at Glaisdale on 10 December.
As it was the AGM, Mrs M Gallon then gave a very good account of last year's meetings and events. Unfortunately she is stepping down after a long stint of being a very good secretary. Mrs J Hodgson, as treasurer, gave a healthy account of finances. Mrs Rutter thanked the secretary, treasurer, committee and other helpers and said she enjoyed her year in office. She was thanked by Mrs B Brown.
The winner of the cup for most points in competitions was Mrs A Brown, second Mrs F Hill.
A vote was then taken of the committee for president and Mrs B Rutter is to be president for another year.
As there was no speaker, a game of beetle was played and winners were Mrs K Cornforth and Mrs A Hodgson. A quiz of dingbats was also enjoyed, organised by Mrs B Brown.
