THE September meeting of the WI was held in the churchrooms. Mrs B Rutter presided and Mrs D Newey read the WI creed.
Everyone had enjoyed the summer lunch at The Stables.
At the next meeting some other institutes are to be invited and Graeme Aldous is to show a forgotten film of Forgotten Roads. Members are asked to take extra supper.
Two teams are to go to the quiz at Updale and one to the group quiz at Glaisdale on Thursday 1 October at 7.30pm.
The AGM is in the Ley Hall, Lealholm on Thursday 15 October at 7.30pm.
Mrs Newey is doing a craft fair of fleeces and silks on 25 October, 11am-4pm, in danby Village Hall.
Janet Smith was then introduced and took members on a journey of slides through Scotland and the Dutch tulip fields. She was thanked by Mrs J Trott. In the competition for an old family photograph Mrs F Hill was the winner.
Supper hostesses were Mrs E Cornforth, Mrs M Nellis, Mrs J Tindall and Mrs D Newey.
