SUNDAY market is held in St Peter's Centre from 10.30am-4pm on the second Sunday of every month. To book a table contact Shirley Heslerton on 841316.
QUIZ nights in and around the village of Staithes: The Captain Cook on Mondays at 9pm; The Royal George on Tuesdays at 9.30pm; The Cod and Lobster on Wednesdays at 9.30pm; The Fox and Hounds on Thursdays at 9pm. All times are approximate.
WHIST drive every Monday in Staithes Memorial Hall at 7pm, everyone welcome.
DOMINOES in Staithes Village Hall every Saturday night at 7.30pm.
THE Craft Centre has now reopened in St Peter's Centre and is open every day from 10.30-4.30pm.
PILATES and keep fit in the village hall takes a break for the summer. Pilates starts again on Wednesday 3 September and keep fit starts on Tuesday 2 September.
COBLE Couriers community minibus trip: Redcar shopping trip on Thursday 11 September, leaving at 9am, returning at 2pm, £4.50, dropped off at door with shopping. For details contact 840876 or 841382.
THE garden section of Staithes Athletic Club will be having the 27th annual show on Saturday 30 August. The show is open to public after judging from 1pm. Sale of produce will be from 2.30pm, all welcome.
STAITHES and Runswick Bay Lifeboat Weekend takes place from Friday 29 August until Sunday 31 August. Various events take place throughout today and the weekend, see notices and leaflets for details.
THE Staithes and Toddler Group reopens in the village hall on Thursdays, 1.30-3pm, beginning 11 September. A chance for parents and carers of children from birth to four years to meet and play. Cost £1 to include refreshments. For details contact Jenny McLachlan on 841018.

CLUBS

STAITHES branch of the Whitby and District Credit Union is open for business in the Gateway Centre in the car-park, Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm. The Credit Union offers a simple way to save and can also provide loans. The branch is thriving but new members are always needed. The Gateway Centre staff are most welcoming and friendly; you can learn more about this saving scheme if you pop into the centre.
THE Tuesday Thing is a club for young people aged 11 and over and is held in St Peter's Centre, Church Street, Staithes from 6-8pm on Tuesday nights. A mini-bus collects from Runswick Bay, Hinderwell, Port Mulgrave and Staithes at the top of the village and takes young people home afterwards. The group needs equipment ie, a football table and other indoor games, however there will be lots going on. For details ring Kate on 840815.
