With reference to a letter by Dorothy Morrison, (Ex-everything except Pope and US President).
Maybe the Grand Turk does attract visitors, but why does all the money go to the Turk when men trying to make a living in fishing – which is what Whitby has survived on – have to pay their heavy dues to the port authorities even when they spend a lot of their time earning their living at sea?
