Watching the Tardis was fun

A week in Whitby is always a pleasure – the ever-excellent Ashford Guest House in Royal Crescent, or an evening of Viennese music at Whitby Pavilion.
Where else can you enjoy a sublime marine sunset without leaving your seat?

There is usually something new as well.

The Whitby Hospitality Association provides a map which introduces a brand new street to the urban landscape: “Badgate” follows the line of the more historic Bagdale.

Perhaps even cartographers fall foul of spellcheck.

Anyway, our curiosity was amply rewarded because Badgate leads to the bus station and the gleaming pay toilet.

This is surely Whitby’s must-see attraction for 2008.

It certainly kept us all entertained as we waited for the homeward-bound Coastliner.

A strategically-placed camera could prove a nice little earner for the town as the procession of hopefuls struggling to get in or out of the Tardis were far funnier than anything normally on You’ve Been Framed.
