A WHITBY pub played host to a night of music to raise funds for the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat.
The Black Horse in Church Street was the venue for a performance from musicians Stuart Tonnar and Nick and Christine Scaife.

The styles on offer ranged from folk, country, music hall, blues and everything inbetween.

It was the third fund-raiser held for the boat in the Black Horse this year and this once raised in excess of £160 following generous donations from the public.

Nick and his wife Christine have been long time fundraisers for the rescue boat and have already raised over £900 this year alone.

Nick said: "The Runswick boat is an independent rescue service totally reliant on voluntary contributions but I never fail to be amazed by people's generosity towards it.

"The crew and committee do a fantastic job for the community in Runswick and we are very grateful to landlady Sue Rae for her support."
