FOUR women from the Whitby area took part in Sunday's Race for Life in Scarborough.
Mother and daughter pairings Jean Reid (57) and Julie Reid (34) of Whitby were joined by Bronia Clark (33) and Demi Clark (15) from Staithes for the event to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Jean raised £120, Julie £107, Bronia £95 and Demi £33 and all said they had enjoyed it very much.

Jean said: “It was good fun on a lovely, sunny day.

“It was nice to see so many people having a nice time raising money for a good cause.

“It was a big achievement for me to run most of it but was all for a worthy cause.

“I will definitely be doing it next year,” added Julie.

“It was an excellent day.”

Bronia and Demi also both said they had loved taking part in the 5km run.
