THREE unusual fish have washed up on the beach at Runswick Bay.
They were found at low water on the tide line. Two were freshly dead and one was alive.
Mike Sewell of Runswick Rescue Boat told the Whitby Gazette he thought they were Ray's bream.
He said: "They looked to weigh about 2lbs each.
"I think they are a relative of black sea bream and usually found in warmer waters. I believe dead specimens have been washed up along the Yorkshire coast in the past, but I have not heard of a live specimen being found on the shore line.
"They were found by the crew of Runswick Bay Rescue boat and the photos were taken by Lewis Clark of the Old Lifeboat House."
