Minutes of meeting held on 3 September 2009
Present: Chairman Cllr John Armsby, Cllrs D Mitchell, M Dalton, N Fowler, J Smith, A Jackson, B Rowe, S Heselton, M Harland, Insp D Barf.
Apologies: Cllr A Barwick, Cllr J Kenyon.

Matters raised by/with North Yorkshire Police

Insp Barf outlined what had taken place at Staithes on Lifeboat Day and the police action and response.
He had since met with organisers and had had frank talks and he hoped all parties would liaise at an early date to arrange and confirm how the 2010 event would be dealt with.
Councillors expressed their concern about this year's event but chairman hoped that lessons had been learnt and he wished everyone involved would look to future events rather than recriminations over this year's.
Cllr Jackson expresses serious concern over the speed of traffic entering Hinderwell from the direction of Staithes. Insp Barf advised the meeting that officers with the necessary equipment had been in this area recently and several drivers had been issued with speeding tickets.
All concurred that a higher police profile and more attention was required at both ends of the village.
Insp Barf promised to do whatever possible to reduce the problem.
