Hinderwell Cemetery – maintenance issues
The clerk has been working with Mrs L Johnson of the PCC to establish the exact status of responsibility for the closed St Hilda's Churchyard and Chapel Hill Cemetery. The historic documentation had now been located and HPC's level of responsibility firmly established. The (approximately) £220 that HPC receive from SBC under the Model Agreement each year in respect of these areas is completely inadequate to allow the required level of maintenance. The clerk is to contact SBC with a view to either increasing this figure significantly or establishing the effect on the Model Agreement payment if HPC decide to hand the maintenance responsibility for these two areas back to them in their entirety. Clerk to circulate copies of the map showing HPC's area of responsibility to all councillors before next meeting.
The clerk advised that lately a number of people had made approaches requesting the opportunity to quote for grass cutting and maintenance tasks at Hinderwell Cemetery. The clerk wished to know whether the council felt it was time to review the existing arrangements in light of this. It was agreed that the clerk would draw up a document specifying our requirements and request quotations from interested parties.
Councillor Mitchell was to address the issue of the quality of the wooden doors on the new storage facility at the cemetery with ECYHT.

Application for financial assistance – Section 137 expenditure
The clerk had received a completed application form from St Hilda's Old School in respect of new furniture. Four amounts were proposed as follows: Coun Mitchell £200, Coun Barwick £100, Coun Armsby £150 and Coun Rowe £180. A vote was taken with three in favour of awarding £100 and five in favour of awarding £180. A cheque was issued for £180 and the clerk is to forward this to St Hilda's Old School.

Date of next meeting: Thursday 1 November, 7pm at the parish office, High Street, Hinderwell.
