Like England, the Lythe School year four football team have their own summer tournament to look forward to.
The boys have qualified for the North Yorkshire Youth Games, to be held at Ampleforth College on 4 July and will represent Ryedale and Whitby.
Lythe claimed the right to represent the region by winning the under nine Ryedale and Whitby Partnership Final held at Ryedale School in October.
The adventure started earlier this autumn in the first round with a win over Whitby School, ranked as one of the top three football teams in the area, and culminated in the tournament at Ryedale where the team played group matches, quarter and semi-finals before they were victorious in the final.
Team coach John Stansfield said: "I am extremely proud of the boys, this has been a great experience so far.
"They are all talented individual players but they are a really good group.
"The boys constantly play together both in and out of school, so in this case it really is practice makes perfect."
